Akram Khan Company 'Chotto Xenos'

Inspired by our award winning final full-length solo XENOS, Chotto Xenos is a captivating dance production that takes young audiences back in time, exploring the often forgotten and untold stories of World War 1 colonial soldiers, in order to shine light on our present and future.

 

iDance 'Cherry Picked': Movement Director

On the sea at the Scaniaplatsen, Malmö, a performance of movement explorations joining international choreographers and collaborators from Great Britain, Greece, Sweden and the Netherlands. The culmination of a four week project funded by Erasmus with a focus on the sharing of inclusive methods of teaching dance and the development of an accessible artistic practice.

Akram Khan Company 'Chotto Desh'

Akram Khan Company, and Theatre-Rites director Sue Buckmaster have adapted Khan’s much-loved 'Desh' for children aged 7+ and their families.

Chotto Desh, meaning ‘small homeland’, draws on Khan’s unique quality of cross-cultural storytelling, creating a compelling tale of a young man’s dreams and memories from Britain to Bangladesh. Using a magical mix of dance, text, visuals and sound, Chotto Desh celebrates the resilience of the human spirit in the modern world. 

Chris Pavia 'The Journey Between'

Chris Pavia is the first learning disabled choreographer to create on a professional

dance company and tour his work nationally. 'The Journey Between' is a dynamic dance

work that visualises the gravitational power in the universe. The work is a collaboration with

a team of digital artists and technicians from Carousel; the result is a visually stunning work that integrates the dancers’ physicality with digital imagery of cosmic explosions. It is his second full length creation for Stopgap Dance Company.

Stopgap Dance Company 'Exhibition'

Exhibition is a collection of eclectic dance miniatures featuring Stopgap’s emerging artist company Sg2. Created by choreographers Amy Butler, Natalie Pernette and David Willidridge in collaboration with Sg2.

Balbir Singh Dance Company 'Trespass'

Classical Indian and contemporary dance forms collide confidently. Dancers and musicians intrude on each other’s territory and produce beautiful combinations.
